41. HENRY BROOKS CLAY4 COE ( Vincent1 (13), Stephen2, Edward1) was born July 11, 1852, in Bradley County, TN. After living in Polk County, TN, until 1883 or 1884, he moved to Randolph County, AR, where he lived in Davidson Township. He acquired a 160-acre farm there in Section 13, Township 21N, Range 2W, November 11, 1892. In April 1906 he moved to Plains, MT, where he was a rancher. He died of intestinal flu September 9, 1931. Burial was at Plains.

He married June 29, 1874, Mary E. Davis, born January 4, 1854, in TN, died April 1936 at Plains, MT, daughter of Rector and Nancy (Lemons) Davis.

ii. John H.C., a farmer and woodsman, b. Oct. 27, 1877; d. Jan. 29, 1948; m. Feb. 13, 1913, at Plains, MT, Muriel Marie Gingery, b. Oct. 29, 1893, in Cass Co., IA, d. Dec. 5, 1992, in Plains, daughter of William G. and Mabel H. (Emigh) Gingery; lived at Plains, MT.
Children (b. at Plains, MT):
1.John Norman, a sawmill worker, b. Jan. 20, 1917; d.s.p. Nov. 12, 1996, at Plains, MT.
2. Jean Marie, a bank cashier, b. July 3, 1925; m. Nov. 9, 1957, at Plains, MT, Harvey L. Doty, b. July 29, 1928, at Musseishell, MT, son of Harvey L. and Jeannette (Runyan) Doty; lives at Plains, MT.
116. iii. WILLIAM JASON, b. March 16, 1880.
iv. Mary Effie, b. Aug. 24, 1882; m. Lee Bryan; lived at Burns, OR. Children: Theodore R., b. March 26, 1903; others?
v. Almus Franklin, b. Feb. 22, 1885, at Elm Springs, AR; d. Sept. 26, 1977, at the Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains, MT; m. April 7, 1912, at Missoula, MT, Nellie Gray, b. 1889 in NE, d. 1935. A rancher at Swamp Creek, MT, for a number of years, he later lived at Hot Springs. Burial was at the Plains cemetery.

1. Ina, m. Murphy; lived at Corvallis, MT.
vi. Sarah Lou Ellen, b. Feb. 2, 1890, in Randolph Co., AR; m. Percy E. Gray; lived at Missoula, MT. Children: Thelma Theo, b. Nov. 21, 1914; Thailua Irene, b. Feb. 6, 1917; Percy Thurman, b. Dec. 30, 1918.
