I've got a few of your Coes line from John D Coes who married Alvaretta (Elpha) Straight who descended from the Pugsleys. My husbands family includes the Pugsleys.
Also, Holly, did you ever live in Westfield, NB?

There were some Coes in Darlington, SC, and some who registered with the Freedman's Bank in Georgia.

I have been searching for Robert William Coes and his son Robert Chipman Coes, both from NB, or Nova Scotia, Canada and I've run across your Edward Reese Coes in the same locations at the same time so expect they must be related, along with a Butler Coes. Looking for information on George Coes (b. ca 1829 in Teignmouth, Devon; m. Eliza). They had at least 4 children: Mary Jane (b. ca 1853 in Newport, Monmouth; m. John Edward Perryman), Ann Maria (b. ca 1858 in Caeraerleon, Monmouth), Alica (b. ca 1861 in Caeraerleon, Monmouth) and W H (b. ca 1864 in Caeraerleon, Monmouth).

My great great grandfather was Edward Coes. The only chid that I know of was John Douglas Coes (1862-1941), but he may have had 2 other brothers. John married Alveretta Louis Straight (1867-1947). They had 2 children; Roland Pugsley Coes (August 9, 1901-1972) and Blanche Areta Coes(June 21,1983-1947). Blanche married Charles Arthur Britten. Roalnd married Annie Emerson Rolston (1902-1965). They had one son : William Roland Coes (April23, 1928- May 13,1975). All of this Coes line was from New Brunswick, Canada.
