I just came back from a visit to see my brother in Tenn. He told me that our Aunt told him that Rose was married to a man by the name of Harrison and they did not have
any children. Just wanted to check this out with you to see if that is correct. Rose had offered to take my Aunt Mary and raise her when her father died.
We went to the library in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and looked up the book "Oxford Companion to the Theater" edited by Phyllis Hartwell, 4th Edition 1983-ISBN;0-19-211546-4. It had several pictures of Rose in different roles, other information about her, and one picture of Charles. Hope this can be of use to you. I would still like to have a copy of the picture you have of Rose and the record reciting "Charge of The Light Brigade" when you get a chance.
I still have not found out anything else about John Alfred Coghlan. I found in the 1900 census that his wife and children, John K., Mary, and Minnie, were living with her father, Robert Elmore, in Lynchburg Township in Sumter County. I did know about Minnie so it made the connection with Lester Hopkins I mention in another message. I think he probably died about 1902-1903 as my father was 9 years old in this census. He was supposed to be about 11 when his father died. I am going to try to find out something through his service records and which National Cemetery he is buried in.
If you have any other info, I would appreciate it.
