Hello, I'm a west coast,WA state, Oldfin, sister to Karen Brooks who posted quite some time back. I've recently picked up our geneology research again and would love to reconnect with our Canadian family. Please contact me if you're willing to help me expand on the info I've been able to accumulate so far, I'm willing to share.

The relationship is only by marriage in our family. My Father's last name is Oldfin and the Cojean comes from my Mother's mother's grandfather. We're still gathering info on both of those particular branches because there wasn't much info available from immediate family. I do know there's a street in Bremerton, WA named after Oliver Cojean but not sure on exact circumstances on how that happened.

MY FATHER'S SISTER MARRIED A BILL SAVAGE WHO RESIDED IN COBOURGOLDFIN. ALSO IN THE FAMILY TREE THE NAME O'CONNOR IS THERE.

Thanks for contacting me. I would love to have a picture of Oliver. Do you have any of Martha Ellen. She is a sister to my great grandmother, Sarah P. Bradshaw. Which of Lena's children is your ancestor? Right now I am in the middle of a project but in a couple of weeks I can send you quite a bit of info. Send me your snail mailing address and I will send immediately the ancestral line of Martha Ellen --Ell. I know nothing about Oliver's ancestry. Do you have anything about him? I'm sister to Karen Brooks, who posted about our great, great GF Oliver Cojean. Karen's computer has issues sometimes, but we would love to get more info on that side of our family. We went up the island back in May to make the rounds of the cemeteries and straightening up of the family plots, and we take note of the dates and narration from our Mom. Saw your message in reply to my sister, Karen Brooks. Our father is Edmund Charles Oldfin jr , (named after his father).
If I have the generations correct, your husband? would be our 2nd cousin once removed. My oldest brother was in contact at one point with Donna Oldfin and got quite a bit of the family tree info. I'd love to get more. We were in Vancouver for a day back in June with our Aunt Merle (Oldfin) Schauer, to get some info on their mothers side of the family, & she called her Aunt Margaret while we were up. Our branch is around Seattle, Aunt Merle is back east in Maryland. Would love to hear from more of the family

i am interested not in cojean but your connection to the OLDFIN surname. It was a mis-spell in the early 1800's from my husband's great great great grandfather. As far as I know all OLDFIN's in Canada and US are somehow related. would like to know more about your connection.

Just wondering not about cojean but your connection to the Oldin family - that is a name in my husband's family that I know is very uncommon. Just wondering which of the Oldfin's your mother is related too.

My Grandmother Josephine (Jo) just pasted last year(91yrsold) and my Mom is sorting through all the family stuff she kept, so I'm not sure today if there are any pictures of Ell or not. My Grandma's Mom is Lena - Caroline. I've seen Ell's marker at the Langley cemetary and Olivier's. They are not together although they are near. There is a picture of Joseph Cogean before he went to WWI. We've been keeping an eye out for anything referencing his family in France. My Granma Jo told a story of a memory when she was pretty young of a letter that came from France, and he sent a reply. He never intended to return. I would appreciate anything you could share on Martha Ellen Brandshaw's line of ancestry you could share. She is my Great Grandmother Lena(Caroline)'s mother. I have a picture of Oliver Cogean infront of his store, I believe it was the one in Interbay or possibly Bremerton. There is a street named for him in downtown Bremerton, WA. I notice Lillian, sister to Lean & Clara is often not mentioned. She was known as "Aunt 'Hun" married 1st to Charlie Willard, then later to someone with the last name of O'Brian. Let me know if you would like to swap info & pictures.

Gloria, I am a distant cousin. My great grandmother was a sister to Clara Cojean's mother Martha Ellen Bradshaw. I have an extensive ancestry on Clara's mothers side of the family (Bradshaw) . I would love to have copies of the obits you mentioned. If you want what info I have, let me know .

JoElla, We are distant cousins, both descended from William Bradshaw and Eliza Burdine parents of Martha Edith/Ellen Bradshaw who married Oliver Cojean. My maternal Grandmother's maternal Grandfather was Oliver Cojean (Cogean). My grandmother's records show Oliver's 1st wife to be Ellen Bradshaw - Cabool Missouri, and they moved to Washington Territory in the mid 1880's with some of Ellen's relations. Oliver worked for the railroad out of Cabool MO. Ellen Bradshaw Cogean + Oliver Cogean Divorced later he remarried, at least twice. Oliver is buried in the Langley Cemetary and so is Ellen Bradshaw Cogean Morse. My maternal Great Grandmother was Caroline (Lena) Cogean Annis, sister to Effie. Granny-Lena had a daughter she named Effie ( for her sister Effie).

I also am researching the Thomas Roberts/ Clara Cojean(cogean) family. Thomas is my great grandfather George William Roberts brother. I have the Obit for Mrs. Clara Roberts who passed away 24 Dec 1947 at age 56. I also have the obit of Thomas W Roberts b 9 jul 1912 and died Mar 1981 married to Anne. I know this Clara and Thomas are connected because the obits refer to the same surriviers.Does anyone have other documetation to help the research. I would be glad to make copies of the obits I have and pass them on.

I believe we may be related. My maternal grandmother, Josephine Annis Funk was one of several duaghters of Lena (Caroline) Cojean and Wilbert Annis. There is a small cupboard (in my mother's livingroom-Carol Funk Oldfin) that was built by Uncle Joe Cojean for his sister Lena. Their father was Oliver Cojean from France originally, but resided in Langley, Bremerton and Marysville Washington.

I searching for information on my Grandmother's birth family. Her Birth Mother's name was CLARA JEAN COJEAN she was born in 1890 in Washington. She had one brother and four sisters, their names were: JOSEPH COJEAN 02-14-1893, MARY COJEAN 1889, EFFIE 1887, ETHEL 1886, and LILLIAN 1885. CLARA married a THOMAS ROBERTS and had five children, their names were: EDNA 1910, THOMAS JR. 1912, ALFRED 1915, JOSEPH OLIVER 1918, and DOROTHY JEAN 07-11-20. CLARA married two more times and had two more children:SONNY and JACQUELINE. I am searching for any information on any of her relatives.
