Looking to connect with anyone of relation to the Colby families of Hambden, Geauga County, Ohio or vicinity. The family I am referring to migrated out of Vermont to New York, then settled in Hambden Township Ohio (although I believe Thomas may have ended up in Waiverly, Bremer County, Iowa).

I am most interested in connecting with descendants of the following family members:

* Caleb Colby b. abt. 1777 in New Hampshire d. aft. 1850 in Ohio(?)
(unknown wife)

* Thomas L Colby (son of Caleb) born about 1808 in Vermont
Eliza Ann Gordon (wife) born about 1813 in New York d. 1856 in Orange, Cuyahoga County, Ohio

Children of Thomas and Eliza Ann Gordon:
* Emily Colby b. abt 1831 in Ripley, Chautauqua, New York
Thomas Chase (husband)

* George Colby b. abt 1833 in New York (I believe he served in the Ohio 41st Volunteer Infantry during the civl war)

* Amelia Ann Colby (my ggg grandmother) b. 28 Nov 1935 in Ripley, Chautauqua, New York d. 16 Mar 1930 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, USA aged 94 years
Daniel H. Worthington (husband) b. 1833 in Leroy, Geauga, Ohio d. 8 Feb 1863 in Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee after the Civil War Battle of Stones River from complications of a gunshot wound to the knee (Ohio 41st Infantry)

* Henry Colby b. abt. 1837 in New York

* Albert C Colby b. May 1842 in Ohio d. 12 Mar 1927 in , Lake, Ohio
Maria J Booth (wife) b. abt 11 Mar 1848 in Hambden, Geauga, Ohio d. 11 Feb 1882 in Hambden, Geauga, Ohio
Olive L Booth (second wife) b. 11 Jun 1845 in Hambden, Geauga, Ohio d. 15 Mar 1919 in Hambden, Geauga, Ohio

* Alonzo Colby b. 1844 in Hambden, Ohio d. 30 Nov 1872 in Ohio (Ohio 41st Infantry)
Sarah E Stafford (wife)

* John Colby b. 1848 in Ohio, USA

I suspect Thomas had 2 brothers and a sister..

Again, I would love to hear from anyone related to this family!

Happy hunting!
