Parents of John b 1736
William (1) Coaldwell b 1695, in England. ( Often referred to as "Father Bill" ) Kidnapped 1711.
Impressed into British Navy by Navy press Gang. ( Early version of recruitment
offices) A cousin (now Deceased) who had done extensive research, told me that
the story was, that Bills mother who was widowed and wealthy was being courted by
a man who Bill did not want her to marry and the suitor paid the press gang to
kidnap Bill to get him out of the way.
William deserted at Boston, Mass., 1712. Married Jane, daughter of Jonathan and
Jane Jordan, at Stoughton, Mass. Removed to Connecticut about 1745 and from
Bridgeport, Connecticut to Horton, Nova Scotia, 1758. Died at Gaspereau, Nova
Scotia, October 28, 1802, aged 107 years.

I have more information on Father Bills family and plan to update it soon. I am
also thinking of updating the records of the descendents of William 1 beyond
1911 which is where the last record ends.
