Elwood A. "Al" Cole, age 67,
passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at UPMC Hamot
as the result of diabetes and heart complications. He was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on September 19, 1945. Al was employed at General Electric Co. for 38 years, retiring in 2003. Following retirement, he was a bus driver for two years with the Harborcreek School District. Al was a Past Commander and Life Member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 571. He served with the Honor Guard for American Legion Carl Neff Post #571 and was a volunteer with the Wesleyville Fire Department from 1977 to the present. Al enjoyed his three dogs, Kaydee, Dallas and Annie, cooking on the grill and gardening. Al is survived by his wife, Lynne D. Cole; twin daughters, Sherri Cole of Harborcreek and Shannon Cole Rieger (Brian) of Girard; one brother, Edward Cole (Judy) of Colorado; four grandchildren, Morgan Coverdale Kelly (Josh), Daniele Coverdale, Gage and Bailey Rieger; one great-grandson, Bryson Kelly; nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Proper Cole and his in-laws, John and Evelyn Jackson. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Carl Neff Post #571 Honor Guard will also render honors.
