SANDUSKY: David F. Cole 92, of Sandusky, Ohio (Erie County) passed away early Wednesday morning, November 28, 2012 at the Ohio Veterans Home.

David was born May 25, 1920 to the late Floyd and Grace (Martin) Cole.

David was a 1938 graduate of Mansfield, Ohio Senior High School.
He was the owner and operator of Cole Tool & Die Company which was founded by his father in 1933.

David served in the United States Navy during WWII in the Pacific on the Destroyer USS Foote.

David was very active in his community.
He was a member of the ASTME, serving on four different committees.
In addition, he was president of the ASTME for two years. For many years, he trained multiple tool and die makers.
He was also a board member for several banks in Mansfield. David was a member of the United States Power Squadron; he was a commander at the local, district, and national levels. He was also the National Rear Commander in charge of safety.

David is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Ellen (Shepherd) Cole of 66 years; his daughter, Susan M. (Roger) Heng; his son, Alan D. (Marla) Cole; five grandchildren, Christina (Lee) Harshbarger, Sarah (Marty) Telschow, Alexandra Cole, Ian Cole, and Camille Lumbert; two great grandchildren, Lilith Harshbarger, and Clarise Telschow; and a special cousin, Robert Campbell.

Friends may call on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 1 pm until the time of Funeral Services at 3 pm, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, Ohio.

After the Funeral Service, family and friends may gather at the Sandusky Yacht Club for food and drink.
