I believe John is a brother to my great grandfather Nicholas - have a photo of John with my Grandfather, and great aunt Alice Wecht [Loganston Ind]whose husband is Lenoard. date taken 1900??
I cannot find any info when they came over or from where - census reads - Prussia, Allsace Lorraine, France and germany Nicholas first shows up in 1870 census in Philadelphia married to a Ellen Grammes.

hi there i am also looking for any infomation on the colle family, as the name colle is unusual i am not getting much luck, im trying to trace my husband birth father who is brian colle, he is approximatly57 years old now and i believe he was a british soldier who served in andover in 1970.

John immigrated in 1866 according to the information he supplied on the census.

My ggrandfather, Joseph Hartnell lived in Garia, Newfoundland until 1871. At that time a group of families moved to Anticosti Island. John Colle was in the 1870 census of Garia. I want to know if he went to Anticosti with this group. Daryle Stephenson

I'm doing some research for a friend. This the line I have traced: Severe Colle (m. Genevieve Theroux in St. Francois Du Lac, Yamaska), Gabriel Colle (& Monique Gamelin), Jean-Baptiste Coll (& Rose Grenier), Nicolas Coll/Col (& Marguerite Dupuis). The 1881 Canadian census lists Gabriel as being German. Any help?

Hi Laura I am also researching this family. Severe is the brother of Joseph Frederick Coll, Joseph was born in1848. He married Genevieve Sophie Letendre at St Bonaventure, Yamaska 1876. They are listed on the 1880 census as Frederick and Genevievre Cole living in Manchester, NH.
Other children of Monique and Gabriel:
Cedelie married Oliver Bosivert
Domithilde married Alexis Cahier
Emerence married Honore Martel,
Emilie married Emmanuel Daviau,
Napoleon married Cedelie Duhaime
Gabriel married a second time to Aurelie LeFebvre and there are several children from that marriage.
I would be so interested to hear about your research. Do you have a birthdate for Severe?
