MUSCATINE, Iowa - Edna Mae Collier, 87, of 89 Denver Park, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Trinity North Hospital in Davenport.

Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Ostrem of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Stroda, Robert Stroda, Ray Soltwedel, Todd Harfst, Steven Harfst and Michael Harfst. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Collier was born on August 20, 1915, in Red Wing, South Dakota, the daughter of Francis and Esther McLaughlin Smith. She married Raymond Soltwedel in December of 1931. She later married Chester Collier in 1962.

Edna owned and operated the Gift Craft Shop in Muscatine until 1960. She then moved to Bushnell, Illinois, where she owned and operated the Gift Craft Florist until her retirement in 1987. Edna loved making crafts and her flower gardens.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Newcomb and her husband, Harold, of Illinois City, Illinois; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Hatfield and her husband, Walter, of Muscatine and Doris Beauchamp of Granger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son, one daughter, a sister in infancy and one brother.
