Taken from the family headstone at St. Ciaran’s Churchyard, Kirktown of Fetteresso, Stonehaven, Kincardine, Scotland –
“1853
Here rest the remains of
Alexander Collison
Born 20th October 1778,
died 10th April 1852.
Elizabeth Birnie, his spouse died
2nd April 1866, aged 95 years.
Also their grandson, John Collison,
died 8th November 1853, aged 18 years.
And Jane Birnie, died 18th November 1840,
Aged 80 years.”
