Hello Everyone!!
I have "Cornell" lineage within my ancestry, and recently came upon an interesting finding which listed my ggg-grandfather as "Benjamin Colonel" and was really puzzled about it. I know from census information here in Kansas, that they lived here as "Cornell", and I'm sure thats the surname, but was wondering why if anybody could tell me, that someone would have had his last name as such? Thanks for any help.
