Hello. I am a descendant of Curtis Fields Columbia, originally of Madison County, Kentucky circa 1822, died in Champaign/Urbana IL in 1901 and buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery right outside the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign campus. I believe that he was the son of one George Washington Columbia, although the records are scant. The name George Washington (or just George) is part of the lore of my family. My ancestor Curtis also apparently used the name "Colombe" for a brief period of time, which might indicate that he was, in fact, a descendant of Louis-Ange de la Colombe (a story that has been passed down in my family). I have information about his descendants to the present day, as well as information on the business and former lands of the Columbia family in Champaign County, IL.

Do you recognize the name "Ann Hanner"? I believe that she may have been George Washington Columbia's wife and my great-great-great-great-grandmother.
