Although Columbus reached the Isthamus of Panama & was told that a large body of water (the Pacific Ocean) lay a few days march away...exhausted, & suffering from malaria, sailed to Jamacia...Spain in Nov. 1504...He spent his last days in a modest home in Valladoid & died on May 20, 1506..." not my family
