I would like information on Daniel Colvin who settled in Ouachita Parish Louisiana between 1810 and 1814. He had several children, including son Jeptha. They settled near that is now Vienna, north of Ruston, Lincoln Parish Louisiana. However, this region was Ouachita Parish until March 1839 when it was put into Union Parish. Then it became north Jackson Parish in1845. Finally, in 1873 northern Jackson was combined with surrounding parishes to form Lincoln parish.

Jeptha Colvin founded the earliest post office in that region in 1838, Colvin's Post Office. It remained Colvin's until 1850, when the name was changed to Vienna.

Daniel Colvin was about the earliest settler of that region. Does anyone know where he lived prior to settling in north Louisiana, who his wife was, who his children were, where/ when he died?

Thanks.
