Thanks so much for your reply. I have looked at the 'Coombs Blood Test' on wiki and you are absolutely correct, how very interesting !
I know for certain that Edward Coombs born abt 1737 in Wincanton is my direct male ancestor on my father's side.His son Robert born 1767 is my 5 x ggrandfather. I am sure that my Coombs originated from Wincanton and possibly Castle Cary.
I think that our paths have crossed before,briefly and I would love to share my tree with you.
