Polly Bolling's lineage

Hi Shirley,
Here's the line as given to me by Stephen D. Bowling
and confirmed by others:
Polly Bolling (Bowling, Bolin, etc for all)
John E. Susan Sizemore Bolling
Rev. Jesse Polly Green Bolling
Benjamin Mary "Patsy" Phelps (1st wife)
John II Mary Blair Bowling
John I Mary Kennon (or Kenyon) Bolling
Col.Robert Jayne Rolfe Bolling
Thomas Rolfe Jane Poythress
John Rolfe Pocahontas

The last two, of course, list the ROlfe ancestry rather
than continuing the Bolling line, but to go on with that,
taking it from Col RObert BOlling (the immigrant ancestor
who m. Pocahontas' gd, it goes:

John Mary Carey (Carrie) Bolling
Robert Anne Clark BOlling
Edward Maude (?) Bolling
Tristam ____ Bolling
Edward _____ Bolling
Tristam Ellen (?) Bolling

Note that John Rolfe (2nd husband of Pocahontas
if it is true that she first had an Indian husband)
is credited with bringing tobacco from the West Indies
being the first to plant it in America, laying the
groundwork for its economy (people bought, sold, and were e
fined in weights of tobacco.) He was also a devout Christian
who prayed much about marrying a heathen but Pocahontas became
a devout Christian herself. SHe d when her son, THomas, was a
newborn, having contracted smallpox, I think it was, while at
court in England. King James disapproved of this mixed marriage
because Rolfe was a commoner she was royalty. Tidbits from
various Pocahontas websites, which you will find interesting, I
should think. One Bolling has photos of the family manor. Col
Robert came from London to Jamestown. ROlfe was here, evidently,
in 1607 or thereabouts, if the Rolfe claims are true. I also have
the names of the fathers/parents of some of the females in the
Bolling line, if you want me to e-mail those to you--or anyone else
who is interested. Merry Christmas to all yours all our other
"cousins". You are the closest relative I now have living on the
Combs side!
