I did do a little checking and do know that Rachel Comer was married to DR. Wm. Cowan and Rachel's mothers' name was Newkirk. I also acknowledge a posting by Beth Cone and someone else related, whose posting I cannot seem to find again mentioning Rachel had penumonia as noted in the 1880 census. I'll let yunz figure this all out.
