Any additional information on Jane would be welcomed. She is my ggggrandmother.
Her listed birth date is the baptism date per the records of the North Molton Parish. The 1841 census listed her as 6 years old and living at hom in Bray Cross Cottage in High Bray. The 1851 census listed her as 16 and working in Higher Hole (in High Bray) as an indoor servant at the household of Peter Slader (farmer of 303 acres). Jane married William Gratton at North Molton in 1854. They lived in the general area -- moving often as was the case with agricultural labourers. From 1911 to 1924 Jane lived with with several of her daughters. She died in 1924 while living at Warkleigh (the farthest she apparently ever lived from High Bray.)
