Cyprien Commet (s/o Blaise Comette & Julienne Monette) married June 1-1863 in St-Venant parish, Paquetteville, Compton county / QC, to Marie Marguerite Lahaie (d/o Julien Lahaie & Marguerite Dupuis) Cyprien's name came from the parish St-Cyprien-de-Lery / QC, where his parents first lived after they got married. But when Cyprien got married, he signed his name: Syprien Commet. In USA his name was mispelled: either Spree or Suppree, and his wife's name was mispelled also: Mary Laha.

Cyprien & his brother Blaise worked for a lumber company in Bay City, Michigan between 1852-1859 approx., then they came back to Canada where they got married.

In 1864 Cyprien had a son: Cyprien Jr. In the census of 1866 Cyprien still lived in Paquetteville, but he must had moved shortly after to USA, possibly to Michigan and then to South Dakota.

Any additional informations concerning these people would be appreciated.

Family Reunion and Family Tree

I am the great-grand-dauther of Blaise Comette of Paquetteville (Quebec). He was married to Maria Vanchestein.
I would like to trace all the relatives of Blaise and also the relatives of his brothers: Cyprien and Jean-Baptiste Comette, and other siblings. I know some of theirs daughters got married and changed names, I would like to get informations about their descendants: Daigneault, Lazure, Lahaie, Foisy, etc.
Also, I think Blaise's 10th child was born in Winooski (Vermont).
There is possibly some relatives all over Canada and USA by now.
Last fall I went to Paquetteville to do some research about the family tree. I realized that the family name has been mis-spelled on some of the birth certificates, such as my grand-father: Amedee Comete, the mistake carried on the next generations.
Please e-mail any informations concerning the above families.
I would like to organize a family reunion, possibly next summer (1st weekend of July?) in Montreal (Quebec). The date and place still to be confirm. For more informations, please contact me.
