Funeral of John Cominsky

WINDBER, June 29. -- Funeral services for John Cominsky, aged 64 years, of 100 Eight street, who died yesterday morning at the Windber Hospital as the result of a fracture of the skull received in a fall down a flight of steps at his home, will be held in the local Slovak Catholic Church at 10:30 o’clock Saturday morning. The Rev. Father Lach will celebrate the mass. Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Undertake G. C. Meek will have charge of the funeral.

Robyn doesn't speak to me I'm afraid. Never figured out what I did wrong to the entire Cominsky family - other than remarrying their brother Joel in 1999! Only one who is civil is David. He called when Carol's husband Jack died - he said that since Joel & he are brothers they should stay in contact with one another. That was the last Joel heard from him *sigh*. So Timm, did you date Robyn in FL or IL? I have several emails since we move way to much - Joel did inherited his father's disease of being bipolar. Almost lost Joel when he had quadruple bypass surgery Feb 17, 2005. That surgery was a true blessing for both Joel and myself -- his doctors there at Sherman in Elgin called in a psychiatrist, and now he's the man I never even knew (even after 47 yrs knowing him and being married since 1963 with 2 years off, before the remarriage). I truly wish and pray that all his siblings get to know him now - I could go on and on.... Joel has a myspace profile. I think it's www.myspace.com/toolmaker40plus. I believe his profile picture has Robyn in it.... all the siblings at their grandpa Jake's funeral years ago.

Carol, are you Robyn's sister or sister in law?? Looking at your email address, you appear to be Robyn's sister in law. If that's true, then you have more info than I do. Are/were you married to Joel?? Please pass on my email address to Robyn and tell her to feel free to email me if she would like. My email address is knuckle_rider40 @ hotmail dot com I currently live in Sedona Arizona. Your bio on classmates says you live in McHenry. I lived there for 13 years before I moved to Sedona 9 years ago. Thanks for the info, Timm ....

Would love to know what limited information you have on Joel? Robyn lives in Florida with her husband. She has one grown daughter.

Anyone with information on William Comiskey/Kamiskey from Pland that came to the U.S. and had a son Edward who attended college in Philadelphia Pa. Taught at a Prep school in Saltsburg Pa. and finally came to Armstrong County in Pa. to pratice Medicine. Edward was born either 1803 or taken from census 1810.

I was always told that my father had his orginal family name changed to Cominsky. This would have happened between 1935 to 1941.I know that his sibings were Stanley,Raymond,and Lorraine.His father was Stanley and lived in Skokie,Illinois and was the Caretaker for Memorial Park Cemetary.

Cominsky's in Athens, Ohio

I am searching for information on Cominsky's, in the Athens County,Ohio area. I had an aunt and uncle Lawrence and Cecelia Bycofski Cominsky killed in a car accident in 1966. His parents were Andrew Cominsky, and Mary(possibly Rosella) Novak. Mary is buried in Buchtel Cemetery, we thought Andrew should be there too. But he's not buried next to her. Lawrence and Cecelia are buried in Maplewood Cemetery- I found them.
I have cousin's that I am researching their family members to add onto our family tree. Anybody know that side of the family? Karla and Andrew Cominsky live in Glouster now- daughter Andrea Lynn married Tad Gallagher, she's a nurse in OB/GYN at Nelsonville Hospital.

I am searching for Augustus Cominskey, Comisky, Cummiskey. All 3 spellings were used in different 1850 census. They came from Donegal Ireland. Moved into Armstrong Co. Indiana Pa. Dr. Edward Mohney Cumminskey was my 3rd great grandfather, he ,married Elizabeth Jane Porter. Augustus was found in a 1850 census as being their eldest son. He was my 2nd g. grandfather. He married Sarah Porter daughter of Wm. and Besty Porter. They had my great grandmother mary Jane Comisky 9 all diff. spellings used) Mary Jane married William Bash Travis moving from Armstrong County into jefferson Co. Reynoldsville, Pa. Any clues?
