Cecilia's 2nd marriage was to George E. Watkins; he was killed in the Cascade Massacre in 1856. Their daughter was born that same year - Minerva Watkins. Cecilia married Daniel Dodge Bailey in 1857. George Watkin's 1st wife was Helen Z. Caldwell; she died 1852/53 in OR/WA Territory. Their son, James, died in the massacre. Cecilia's son, Johnny Chance, from her first marriage, was injured in the massacre. Cecilia had her children from her first marriage, George's children from his first marriage, their child Minerva, and one child with her 3rd husband, Daniel Dodge Bailey, in the 1860 census.

I'm trying to find any information available about these families. I don't know what happened to Minerva after age 14. There are other children of Helen & George. I don't know where Helen is buried. Helen was my 3rd great-grandmother's eldest sister.

I am in contact with one of Helen & George's descendants but she does not have that information.

I am happy to share anything I have with fellow researchers.
