He was a Methodist Minister and around 1845 or 1850 was the pastor of Old Union Methodist Church. The People would come from many miles around to hear him. At one time he was pastor of John Wesley Stand. Joshua was killed on February 8, 1875, by a falling tree limb...Joshua Robbins was tall, big, broad-chested with white hair. Bio: History of Madison County, Indiana

Orlando D. Hinshaw was reared in Hamilton county, Indiana, where he attended the public schools, and subsequently went to Ridge Farm, Illinois, where during the next four years he studied pharmacy. Returning to Sheridan, he purchased a store , in which he continued for a few years, and then went to Darlington, Indiana, where he was the proprietor of an establishment for two years. At that time he decided to try his ability as an agriculturist, and accordingly traded his store for a small farm in Montgomery Co, but this he afterwards sold. Since 1902 he has made his home in Elwood, and here, in 1905, he bought his present pharmacy. He has been successful in this venture, has built up a steadily-increasing trade , and is known as one of his locality's influential and substantial citizens. With his family, he takes a prominent part in the work of the Methodist Episcopal Church, where he is treasurer of the board of trustees. He has likewise been prom inent in fraternal circles, being master of Quincy Lodge No. 230, F. & A. M.; and a member of Elwood Chapter No. 109, R. A. M.; Sheridan Lodge No. 176, Knights of Pythias; and the local lodge of the Modern Woodmen of America. He is not a politi cian, but has rendered valuable service to his community in assisting to advance movements for the general welfare, and everywhere he is recognized as a public-spirited, earnest and progressive citizen.

Obituary: Final rites for Lola A. Cottingham, 86, formerly of 230 Third St., Sheridan, have been set for 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan.
Mrs. Cottingham died this morning at Riverview Hospital. She was born and reared in Hamilton County, the daughter of William A. and Flora (Ressler) Hinshaw. In 1913 she married C. Fletcher Cottingham and he survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Harold(Betty) Fesmire, Perry ,Ga.; Mrs.Jack (Drucilla) Jones, Warner Robbing, Ga.; Mrs. Donald (Roberta) Mendenhall and Mrs. James (Judy) Moore, both of Sheridan; two sisters, Mrs. Perry Harvey and Mrs. Horace Kirkman, both of Westfield; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the OES, both in Sheridan, and the Symposium Club, also in Sheridan.
