While my husband is not directly related to this line, we are researching the brother of George and Jacob Comp, John Wesley Comp, b. 7 Mar 1840, and died 21 AUG 1924 in Edmond, OK. He married Salina Argenbright. I have wondered if John also served in the Civil War since he married a woman from Virginia in 1867. Our interest in this family stems from early Oklahoma Statehood when John and his son George Andrew Comp b. 1875, d. 1964 served as physicians. We have lived here since 1974. When my husband obtained his medical license then, he was asked if he was related to these two Dr. Comps. We have been exploring the Comp ancestry in Perry County for some time.
