"Nathan 'Hap' Ebenezer Compher, Jr., age 56, died Monday, August 15, 2005, at his home in Millwood, VA. He was born March 24, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late Nathan and Betty Compher. Mr. Compher had lived in Loudoun County for 40 years until 2004. He was a member of the Leesburg Jaycees, Purcellville American Legion, and Loudoun Rescue Squad. Hap served his country in the United States Air Force. [P] He is survived by his son, Nathan 'Jake' Compher III of Purcellville, VA, and Jake's mother, Arlene Compher of Purcellville, VA; brother Pete Compher of Stephens City, VA; sisters, Kate Chambers of Bethesda, MD, Patti Morrison of Berryville, VA, Dale DeCarlo of Purcellville, VA, and several nieces and nephews. [P] The family will receive friends at HALL FUNERAL HOME of Purcellville, VA from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2005. Services will take place 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, August 18, 2005 with Pastor Chris Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. [P] Memorial contributions can be sent to Boyce Volunteer Rescue Squad, 7 South Greenway, Boyce, VA 22624. Arranges by HALL FUNERAL HOME, Purcellville, VA."
