I don't know if you have found anything yet but I just got some info from the 1881 census for Young & Escott Rear Leeds South Ontario

Thomas Compo male married 38 French Birthplace Ontario
Elizabeth female married 36 French Birthplace Ontario
Heneryetta female 16 French Birthplace Ontario
William male 13 French Birthplace Ontario
Harriett female 11 French Birthplace Ontrio
Charles male 5 French Birthplace Ontario
Ellen female 3 French Birthplace Ontario

I also found a marriage record for Thomas and Elizabeth. They were married 1 Sept 1863 Morristown, St Lawrence County.

I have a notation here that Thomas father was Charles and born in Athens also. Don't take Charles for fact as I don't have my source handy
