Stella Seene Compton Stella Seene Compton, 83, passed away Sunday June 7, 2009 at her residence in North East. She was born on January 2, 1926 in South Ripley, N.Y. a daughter of the late Orlando and Henrietta Curtis Trask. Stella was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in North East and enjoyed working in her garden, doing ceramics and painting. During her life she had worked at Jiffy Foods and Sunshine Packing in North East. She was preceded in death by her first husband Phillip H. Seene Sr. in 1990, her second husband John R. Compton in 2006, one son, Phillip H. Seene Jr, four brothers and three sisters. Stella is survived two daughters, Rosemarie (Sookie) Million and her husband James of North East and Margie Seene of Orlando, Fla., two sisters Martha Chambers and Alice Chambers both of Findley Lake, N.Y. Also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, Pa. on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1500 Freeport Rd., North East, Pa. Rev. Charles Wertz will officiate. Interment will be in North East Cemetery.
