My great-grandfather, Peter McFarlane, married Anne McAinsh and had 8 children, including my grandfather, James, who moved to South Africa probably in early 1900's. One of James's brothers, Duncan, moved to Canada, and another brother moved to Australia. Their brother Daniel's son Peter died of wounds in France in 1915. My father's name was Peter, and we have cousins called McKay still in Scotland, near Inverness, and a cousin Freda McKay who was working at the U.N. in 1987.
I would be interested in having contact with anyone for whom this rings bells! My sister Barbara in South Africa is trying to collate all the information we have up to date, based on research I did in Edinburgh in 1987. We're keen to fill in gaps in the tree, but also to contact any family who would like to be in contact with us!
