Further to my reply of yesterday 9th April, I thought I should write again to avoid misleading anyone interested in the names mentioned in my reply.
Firstly, the death certificate of Andrew Comrie shows Andrew to have died in Ardbennie, Maderty, not Ardbennie House.
Secondly, George Rennie's marriage certificate gives his parents as William Rennie, Innkeeper, and Ann Comrie. I found a William Rennie, Inkeeper, in Perth and assumed that to be the one as he fits the time frame and is in a more likely locality. Furthermore, there is a Peter Comrie, painter, in Perth, mentioned in William Rennie's inventory on William's death and there were comrie innkeepers/vintners in Comrie, Perthshire. William Rennie was also a vintner and the connection between William and Ann could have been made through the aforementioned comries. Interestingly, George Rennie's marriage certificate does not say his father was deceased; George was married in 1865 and his father died in 1839. I dont have anymore on the connection between Ann and William but George did take his father's name.
Lastly, George Rennie is shown as Andrew Comrie's nephew in the census for 1951 (Trinity Gask) and the one for 1961 (Maderty). Andrew's parents are given as William Comrie and Helen Ritchie on his death certificate; William and Andrew had a daughter Ann.
I would be interested to hear from anyone in connection with names mentioned.
