Am searching for family of John McLaren who married at the Lamberton Toll in 1847.

No. 1967. Lamberton Toll. Aug 8 1847.
John McLernen of 71 Comrie to Barbra Hope of Berwick.
Wit. William Wright, Isabellea Dixon.

At first I thought the 71 Comrie referred to the 71st Regiment of Foot but now think that perhaps that's where John McLaren was born. (his name was McLaren not McLernen).

On the IGI I've found another John McLaren born in Comrie in 1832 but don't think that's the right one. John served in the 71st Regiment of Foot and died before 1861 when his widow remarried another soldier in the Regiment.

Can anyone shed any light please.
