I will definitely do that tonight and try to get back with you with that info.

I also wanted to send you an invite to view my tree, that way, when I update something on our side, you will also be kept in the loop.

The other cousin that I found on Ancestry is Willa Hill, and she is also Sarah's great granddaughter. Just an FYI :)

If the family history is correct your great grandmother would be my dad's 1st cousin. Ask your grandmother do they know any of the Conages in Daytona Beach?

Hello Sheryl,

Thank you so much for replying. Yes, Wiley is my great grandmother, Trudy May's father. Trudy May and her sister Hattie, are still alive and living in Tampa. Granny, which is what we call her, will make 93 in December. :)

And yes, with some help I have also discovered the name change.

I've also spoken with another relative that I found on Ancestry who told me about a cousin, Fred J. Carnage, who is also a distant relative of ours; check out the link for some history, http://web.co.wake.nc.us/lee/ncbios/ncbios_a-c/carnage/19490....

Well, I guess this means that we are cousins!!!! :)

yes I am african american.
my family is from Thomasville, GA.

Something interesting that i discovered in my research was that the original name for the "Conage"s was "Carnage". Somehow the name was changed at somepoint to Conage... From the 1910 census there wa a son Wyley born to Alfred and Sara Carnage who was my great grandparents and could possibly be your great great grandparents.

please let me know what you find out.

Hi Cheryl,

My name is Shantell and my great grandmother is Trudy Mae Conage who also lived in Georgia. I too am looking any records on the last name and have not had any luck.

Both Trudy Mae and her only daughter, Willie Mae, who is my grandmother are both still alive. I am not sure if we are of any relation to each other but I too cannot find ANYTHING on the family.

From what my grandmother can remember, Trudy's parents names were Wylie and Hattie.

Are you of African American descent?
