I'm having a frustrating time. Don't know how to do this. I grew up in Corning and my ancestors were from Chemung county but John Conklin doesn't ring a bell. My great grandfather used to walk from Corning to Elmira each week to work on the telephone lines that were being installed in Elmira. His name was Lewis s. Conklin. I have marriage certs for his parents and his grandparents but before that I can find very little (nothing).
