I have seen a couple of posts regarding Ephraim's wife that indicate he was married 2 x. I do not think this is the case. I think his wife was married twice, thus Betsy Elizabeth Fips and Elizabeth Stansberry being one in the same. My g-grandfather was Nelson D. Conklin (b. 1857), son of Ephraim in the Iowa 1925 census he lists his mother's maiden name as Elizabeth Stansberry. Elizabeth and Ephraim were married 9/22/1847 in Ray Co. MO. Betsy would be a nickname for Elizabeth.
