I am so very, very, very excited to read your message. I HONESTLY believe you are the needle in the haystack that I have been looking for.
Very possibly the Jospeh W. CONN you ref is the father of my grrrrt grandfather Samuel CONN who is buried at Conn's Creek Church Cemetery in Cherokee Co., Ga.
Samuel CONN was Born 6 June 1809 per his tombstone and other records. His various census records list SC as his place of birth.
He married Elizabeth Ingram in Hall Co., Ga., on 11 April 1830, before they moved to Cherokee Co., Ga.
Lots of allied family tree try to make hime the son of a John Conn, citing a will of Hall Co., Ga. probated in 1800, stating that son Samuel (among others) was a benefactor.
I have a copy of this will, and the dates just don't jive. How can a kid that isn't even born in 1800 already receive his share?
Therefore since I'm a direct decendant I am anxiously trying to find factual data to verify my sources and keep going back.
Does my theory sound possible?
