Mary Connel,b jan 3, 1927, and Nora Connel, B aug 7, 1929 - moved to Toledo Ohio about 1946. They are from Liverpool, England. Mary married Al Alcock, and Nora married Eugene Ferdon. We are looking for info on their parents. Their mom possibly died in Liverpool between 1963-66. Also, they had Connel relatives near Dayton, Ohio who also moved from England. Can anyone help? I have recently found info that shows John Connel (or Connell, records of my closer ancestors show both spellings) married Lucinda Stateler. They had eight children, including John (my gggrandfather). I am searching for familes of the other seven children. They are presumed to have been born in Ohio, probably Newark, Licking County, OH but possibly Steubenville, Jefferson County, OH, they are:

I am researching my mother's family. She is a Coleman. Her grandfather was William S. Coleman. His father was Joshua Coleman. Joshua's [Jack] 2nd wife was Jane Floyd Bearden. One of their daughters was Sydney b. 1850-1860? Flat Creek Bedford CO TN. I have one sentence about her: Aunt Sydney married a man named Tom Connel. Julia Connel b.Feb 27,1816, d.Feb 2, 1898 in Rockingham Co. VA. M. Jan. 1, 1839 to William James Lamb. Her father, John S. Connel signed the marriage bond. Her mother was Frances "Frankie" Lee.

The following union soldiers, privates in the 11th Veteran Reserve
Corps, comprising the guard, were killed along with their confederate
prisoners of war in a railroad accident near Shohola, PA. July 15, 1864.
They were buried at the site of the accident and later moved, together
with the bodies of the confederate prisoners to Woodlawn Cemetary,
Elmira, NY. where the individual graves can not now be identified.

I am looking for info on John Connel (b. ABT. 1830) m. Mary Ellen Goodwin and lived 1860 in Licking County, Ohio. One of their daughters was Nettie Bell Connel (my ggrandmother) m. Richard Lawrence Irwin. I have seen references of Nettie Bell as Anella Connel, Anella Connelly and Nettie Connelly so I am not sure of the predominant spelling but in 1860 Licking County census there are numerous Connel, Connely and Connelly entries. May have been born in Scotland and emigrated - try Ayrshire on West Coast of Scotland - my grandmother was Agnes Connel and came from Ayr as did her parents I believe grandparents too - or Connel Ferry in Argyle where I think family originated. The single L is unusual - not many about, most spell it with two.
