MUSCATINE, Iowa - Gerald A. Connell, 61, of Muscatine, died Friday, January 16, 2009, at his home.
Funeral Service will be at the Calvary Church. Pastor Bruce Martin will officiate. Casket bearers will be Bernie Bolton, Gary Kaalberg, Byron Phillips, David Fuller, Rick Causse, and Chuck Bunn. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home.
Jerry was born on October 2, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of Robert L. and Dorothy M. Fuller Connell. He married Lynda L. Bunn on August 8, 1970, in Muscatine. They later divorced.
He worked as an Animal Products Market Specialist at Kent Feeds until 1980. He then worked at Greater Iowa Futures until 2000. He also farmed many years with his dad.
Jerry was a member of the Muscatine County Cattlemen’s Association and the Shorthorn Association.
Survivors include his son, R. J. Connell and wife, Amber, of Cedar Rapids; his daughter, Christy Brus and husband, Keith, of Wolbach, Nebraska; one grandson, Cole Brus of Wolbach, Nebraska; his ex wife, Linda Connell of Lincoln, Nebraska; and one brother, Geoffery A. Connell and wife, Dea, of Stillman Valley, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry, in infancy.
