My great grandparents were Christopher and Bridget Connely (Connoly?, both born in Ireland. He abt. 1832, she about 1837 but I have no idea what countys or when he immigrated. She immigrated in 1860. He fought in the Civil War with the 19th Regiment, Minnesota Infantry. The record says he was born in Minnesota but my grandmother Nellie Connely Lamb had his uniform from the Grand Army of the Republic so we know it is him. And it was always discussed in the family.
I know they had three children (maybe more) that are found on the 1880 cencus Frank born 1870, Ellan 1872, Nellie 1874 (my grandmother). But after that the family disappears. I find Bridget living with my grandparents in 1900 but thats it.
Really I find little before or after the 1880 cencus. Any ideas? I have searched more ship lists than I care to remember. I have looked at naturalization records. I can find no death record for him. I am stumped. Help???
