My name is Rachel Waldron and I am the Great Granddaughter of Joshua Harry Waldron who married Gertrude Lilian Hughes the sister of Emily Hughes who I believe is your Grandmother if I'm correct.

Sadly I haven't gotten any more to help in the William H Hughes and Clara Connor/Conner family trees. However my Grandad (Gert's Son) remembers when he was a child visiting a house on Rotton Park he thinks he would have been 7 or 8 years old. He remembers Harry and Gert taking him to visit this house on the bus and it backed onto the Mitchell & Butlers Club House the owner was an M&B member and took them around the brewery. He remembers his mother saying the last bus would be going soon and that Harry was drunk and they ended up staying the night. He can remember playing with their children but never knew who they were and if they were family they never visited ever again and it has always stuck in his mind.

I then saw on one of your posts that Rueben Hancox and Emily lived on Rotton Park at sometime. Then I stumbled across something on Gert's & Harry's wedding certificate the witness is signed R. Hancox perhaps your Grandfather?

I will send their wedding certificate and Gert's birth certificate if you'd like?

So I am hoping to get in touch to find out did you manage to get any further in your family research.

Also Gert never spoke of her family ever leading my Grandad to think she was brought up in the workhouse as she would say she 'grew up in service' when my Grandad asked her about her family he never even knew that she had brothers and sisters. So sadly he knows very little about the Hughes' but would love to know more.
