Conyers, GA was named after my great great uncle, Leonidas Conyers. I had never heard the story of him leaving a will to his daughter who had fallen in love with a slave. (this from Bryan)......but sounds feasible. I'd like to know where the story came from ie. written or legend? Leonidas Conyers is buried along with other family member in Newnan, Coweta Co., GA. I have visited this cemetary....back in 1986. My ggf was John E. Conyers b. 1801. Would love connecting with any cousins out there!!
