I have pretty much most of my family information after they migrated to Missouri. I was maily trying to find out if any of the male offspring in the 1700's had any children that might have stayed in SC.

Thanks anyway and good luck with your family tree.

Carl

Hello there. Sorry, but no. Based on the information I have there were not a "John" in the family line. However, because I have not been able to find any info for any of the male offspring in the 1700's, there could be some connection between your John and my ancestors. My ancestors migrated from the Charleston, SC area to Missouri in the 1835 to 1845 timeframe.

Carl Cook

Cook Descendants in South Carolina

I grew up in Kansas City, Mo, but I recently found out that my Cook ancestors came from Christ Church Parish in Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, SC in the 1700's. Information that I have been able to find indicates that my GGGGrandfather was a William Cook that was born 1758. I believe his father may also have been William Cook(e).

I am trying to find any other descendants in the Cook family line that might still live in South Carolina or have migrated to other parts of the country. I am primarily looking relatives other than those descended from Samuel Simons Cook.

Re: father

Cecil Cook was my grandmother Annie Elizabeth Cook Pritchard's youngest brother. The information I have is as follows: Augustus Leroy Cook and Annie Elizabeth (Liza) Morrison, m. 12-3-1887 in Thomas County, GA and their children were: Gussie Estelle Cook (dau) b. Sep 1888. She married Oscar Miller. Annie Elizabeth Cook (dau), b. 30 Mar 1890, d. 22 Dec 1986, m. Richard Gilbert Pritchard 6 Dec 1908; Marvin Cook (son), b 1896, Calvin Cook (son); Bessie Cook (dau), b Dec 1894, m. G. M. Hancock; Drucilla Cook (dau), m. Robert M. Hamm; Cecil Cook (son), I believe he was the youngest but I have no other information on him except that I met him a couple of times when I was a young girl. The 1900 Census lists a daughter, Irene with a birthdate of 1898 (age 1) but she is not found in later census. Augustus Leroy Cook is believed to be buried in Pierce Chapel Cemetery between Cairo & Thomasville, GA. I am still researching this family so if you have additional info and don't mind sharing I would appreciate it. I would like to hear from you. Happy hunting.
