Cooley of Middlesex UK
Thomas Cooley bc 1834 (Wandsworth? Middlesex) was sentenced in London in 1852 for larceny and was eventually transported to Western Australia for 7 years on the Runnymade, arriving in Australia on 7 Sept 1856.
He obtained his ticket of leave on 14 May 1858 and travelled to South Australia in December of 1864. He married Ann Sell on 7 February 1867. She was born in Rampton Cambridgeshire in 1849. They settled in South Australia and had nine children. Thomas's father was Edmund Cooley. Would be interested to hear from anyone who recognises this Cooley family.
Cheers
Janine.
