Good evening, Thanks for contacting me. Where are you from? Have you done much research on the Pace family? I am fortunate enough
to have several old pictures of the Pace family. What is your family link to Wesley Pace? Have you been working
with Ancestory.com very long? I have been building my tree for a little more than a year, it is very addictive!! I can give
you access to my tree to check it out if you would like, I have many Pace photos on it.

I have been working on my"Coon" family for a few years and come aross alot of"maybe connected!" I found a Ontario,Canada census 1852 that has Amasa and Sarah born USA he 53, she 55 with alist of names after: Nelson age 27,Lucinda age25,James age20,Jane age18, Andrew age17,Rhoda age15,Emma age13,john A.age10, Amasa(age 7)and Almira age 25. Cemeterie stones (from FamilySearch.com) in canda read,
Coon, amasa d. 7/28/1877 77y 9m 18d h/o Sarah Flick
Coon,

Sarah b. 5/22/1797 d. 1/21/1894 w/o Amasa Coon
Coon,John A. d.4/12/1872 29y
Coon,Nelson d. 2/14/1890 66y
These are from White church Cemetery in the county Wentworth,Twp. of Glanford in Port Royal, Washingham, Ontario. I don't know if any of this helps you, but good luck in your search. I believe the book said Amasa died in Glassford, the corret name is Glanford.

I have a little info that may be of use. Dennis H. Coon was born about 1889 in Michigan. Alta L. Gotham was born Jan 1886 in Michigan. In addition to their daughter Goldie, they had Jimmie Coon born about 1907 in Michigan, Herby Coon born Oct 1908 in Michigan and Arlene Coon born about 1915 in Michigan. Alta's mother's given name was Viola H. and she was born Oct 1862 in New York. Viola is listed as a widow in the 1900 census and has four children aged 11 - 18.

Dennis Coon and family are found in the 1910 census at Corwith, Otsego Co., Michigan and in the 1920 census at Saginaw (Ward 12), Saginaw Co., Michigan, and the 1930 census at Saginaw, Saginaw Co., Michigan.

Good luck with your search.

David Coon
"In Search of Coonections"

Hi Robert, I have spent some time trying to gather information on my family and ancestry. I am very proud and interested in your great grandfather. I am not sure I am on the right track because a number of different Coontz, some from Germany and some from Switzerland came to the USA about the same time. My research indicated that three brothers arrived from Germany in 1632 in Maryland and migrated to Virginia and then to West Virginia. My understanding is that your family is probably from West Virginia and of German not Swiss. If you have additional information I would love to have it. All of my dad's ancestors are from Virginia and West Virginia. Thank you in advance.

Glenn Coontz
Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Good day, this may be a little late but years past I gathered some information that be helpful to you about Admiral Coontz. His ancestors arrived in Maryland abt 1632. I think there were three brothers that eventually migrated from Maryland to Virginia and later what was to be West Virginia. I am not sure when the migration to Hannibal took place, but it was in the early 1900s (if I remember right). There are many web sites about the Coontz' of Barbour County, West Virginia. I believe that Admiral Coontz' family was the ones from Germany and not Switzerland. If you have found out anything different please let me know, Thanks.

Martha Ellen Coon b Mar 1852 in Allen/Belmont Ohio d 29 Apr 1911 in Portland Jay Indiana. Married to Isaac Newton Thomas. Confirmed name on certified records for son Enoch Newton Thomas.

Found biographical sketch in History of Allen County Ohio that profiles Isaac Coon b March 18, 1829 in Belmont County, OH. Indicates he is son of George Coon (and 1st wife Christine Moore) of Pennsylvania who dies in 1873 at over 95yrs of age. Also documents Isaac's first wife as Julia Ann Gaskel with 3 children: Martha E, Martin and Benjamin.

I have found both George and Isaac buried I believe in the Allentown Cemetery in Allen County, Ohio.

With so many George and Isaac Coons in the family and another Martha Ellen Coon born around the same time with ancestry thru Michael Coon I believe I would appreciate any clarification as to this George's ancestry. I'm leaning towards John or John Adam as father based on dates...

George (Washington) Coon 1786 PA, Samuel Coon

For all descendants of George (Washington) Coon: I have found his brother Samuel. I've been working on a Samuel Coon who was in Darke Co., OH from about 1840 until his death in 1860. Many tantalizing clues that linked them but no documentation.

I have tracked one of the daughters of Samuel (Darke Co) from Ohio, to Indiana, and finally to Michigan. I just got a call from someone who was doing some looking through papers up there and he has found not only her death announcement in a paper, but has gotten a copy of her death certificate. It states that she was born in Fairfield County, OH, that her father's name was SAMUEL COON and her mother's maiden name was NORTH. I'm not sure what other information there is, but he's mailing the documents to me.

I found her in the census of 1850 with S H (Samuel Hubbard,Jr?) and Lucy Coon in Dane Wisconsin. She is 13, and it does not say what the relationship is. Lucy is listed as 25, so cannot be her mother. Would like to know who her parents are. Any help would be appreciated.

I am seeking information on Hiram J. COON who married two daughters of William and Margaret IRWIN/ERWIN. In the 1850 and 1860 censuses the Wm. IRWIN / ERWIN family were in DeKalb County, Illinois In 1870 Hiram and his family are living with the Daniel O. MILLER family in the 1st Ward of the City of Chicago. Daniel MILLER is the son of Asa MILLER and the step-son of Mary Ann (COON) MILLER and married Jane IRWIN, William and Margaret's daughter. I am trying to find a connection between Mary Ann COON MILLER and Hiram J. COON. If I can connect with any members of this family perhaps they can give me some much needed help. Thank you.
Hi Dolly,

If you can email me at path429@embarqmail.com, I will send you the information I have on Isaac and Georgianna Coon. As far as Jesse being Jefferson D. Coon, I am not sure, but may very well be. I got the name Jesse from my g-uncle in 1998 amd have tried to find info on him. Thank you for contacting me. I look forward to hearing from you. (Pat)
