Russell married Mary Carolin Greer daughter of Benjamin Greer and Eliza Ingraham. He was a tanner and traveled buying hides. Greers were from Watauga Co. NC and I believ they got married there between 1856-1861. I am not certain of the date. They lived and had a tany yard in Elkpark N.C. (now part of Avery Co.) and their first three children were born there. Between April 1866 - March 1869 they moved a few miles away to Shell Creek, Carter Co. Tenn. as there was a better water source for the tan yards. I should have checked what I sent earlier but didn't. Russell was born May 22, 1836 and died 30 Nov. 1885 and is buried in Shell Creek TN.Mary was born in New River (near Boone) NC born 01 April 1843 and died 11 December 1922 in Urbana, Champaign Co. Married Lillie and soon returned to Illinois where he grew up. He died fairly young living Lillie a widow with 3 small sons. Her mother, Mary came north to help her raise her family but everyone else stayed in TN or NC. Lillie's four children are also buried beside their parents. Only her son Ted had children, one of which is my mother June Judy Reifsteck the other being a son Richard, Richard and most of his children are in Michigan. My three brothers are in Illinois but had to be different and move to Indiana. I lived in NC for a time and my granfather, Ted Judy retired to Elk Park, NC and lived there ,many years.I spent many vacations with him and gathered much of my family history in the late 60s and early 70s (before marriage and children). I have had replies from a couple other of Banks and Nancy's children's desendanst(James Harden and Adolphus D.) I was excited to hear from you as females are so much harder to find. When ever you have time to get back to me I'll appreciate it. Unfortunately life always is there and geneaogy comes when it can.
