I come from a very large Cordial Family. 7 sisters and brothers parents Betty (Campbell),Denvil Graydon Cordial. Father Charles Cordial and Marie Cordial.

I am looking for information on my family tree. I am not sure of descendants, or actually a lot of relatives. My biological father's name is Paul Augustine Cordial Jr. His father was Paul Cordial who was married to Virginia Reese. Any help that anyone could find would greatly be appreciated.

I think your grandmother might be the sister of my great grandfather Alfred Le Goubin. On the 1891 census they are both listed. Their parents are Louis Charles Le Goubin and Emily Matilda Ennis. My mother's mother was Erica Violet Le Goubin. Look forward to hearing from you, Cerian

I am looking for the family of my great grandmother Sarah Ellen Cordial. She was born in 1853 in Tennessee as was both of her parents. She married John Wesley Beaittie. I can't seem to find anything about her family. I believe she had older brothers. The rumor in the family is that she would go between families in the area with current news of the Civil War when she was about 12 years of age. I would appreciate any help.

Mary Ellen Cordial (b. 1859, New York)

Looking for information about Mary Ellen Cordial, b. 1859 in NY, married Charles Bullock in the late 1870s, mother of Jane (b. 1879), Annie (b. 1881) and James (b.& d. 1888). This family lived in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn/Kings Co., NY. At the time of her death in 1889, Mary had been "a resident of the city" for 14 years. I suspect she might be one of the Westchester Co./New Rochelle Cordials, but the census records don't seem to match up. Any information would be appreciated! I am not aware of having posted any message about a Hayler family- I do not recognise the name at all and dont think its anything to do with our family. I did post the message about the Cordials. Dont know how that has happened. Sorry i cant help.

You posted a message re William Hayler in 2005 and I replied to you, but it seems you didn't get the message, and I then sent another message in Feb this year, still no success.

I noticed you posted a message in May this year regarding another name,(Cordial)and thought it might be worth another try. Third time lucky!

Hi Pamela,
Sarah Mary is the daughter of Henry Cordial and Elizabeth Fielding and her birth was registered in Nova Scotia on 11.10.1842. Her uncle would have been James.

james Cordial is my great great grandfather- he appears to have been married twice to Martha Courts and then to Amelia Kelly. perhaps you could let me know where Sarah fits in and which mother she belonged to?

I think we share a common ancestor. I have Sarah Mary Cordial born 1842 in Nova Scotia. Her father was Henry Cordial and her brother James born Limerick in 1824.

lm not sure could be,my Martha Edith Cordial was born in 1866 in Mile End, Mother Martha Courts, Father James Cordial.Edith married Andrew Mitchell Graham in 1887, in Alnwick Northumberland,there were 5 other children that lve found so Edith Edna could be another.

fascinated to read your account. Have just started looking for the Cordial family. My greatgrandmother was Edith Cordial maybe born Martha Edith. I think her parents were James and Martha Cordial and she was born in London. from the census I see she had 2 sisters mary and Cecilia/cecille or even genella and 1 brother James. cecille was born in India so would fit in with your story. i am researching my great grandmothers family She was Edith Cordial -possibly born Martha Edith- parents James and Martha. She married Andrew Graham in 1889- their daughter was Edith Edna Graham and she married Thomas Bickerton. Their only daughter was Kathleen Mary - my mother. Any connection to your family???

Hi have just started looking for Cordial family.Edith Cordial married to Andrew graham Oct 1889 was my great grandmother. her father or maybe uncle was I think a James Cordial born 1824 in Ireland and died in Alnwick 1886. Is there any connection to your family.

I would like information on the Cordial family. I have Cordial family from NY. Or should I say had. I know of a Susan Cordial married to a Thomas Callahan. Susan's parents were Jno and Anna? They lived in the new Rochelle are in NY.

Hello, I am looking for the Cordial family. All I know is that they lived in New Rochelle, NY. I believe the names were Jno (John) and Anna or Annie ( maiden name Hynes, Hines, etc..). If this sounds like your family history, please let me know.

l wonder if anyone can help me,l have just found through the BMD that one of my family Martha Courts born 1829 in Fowey Cornwall married a James Cordial born in Ireland in December 1863,l managed to trace them on the 1871 census and they had children Martha E born in 1866 and James Courts Cordial born in 1868 both in Mile End,James snr. is shown as a Chelsea old Pensioner,but there are children Cecilia born 1860 in India and Mary E born in 1853 in Canterbury Kent,lve not had much luck tracing them after 1871 and wonder if anyone recognises these names,l'd love to know more about them

I have some info that may relate to your Cordials. You may already have it, but here goes ...

In the 1891 Census, there is a 20-year-old James Cordial from St Heliers, Jersey, stationed at the District Royal Artillery Barracks at the Woolwich Dockyard. He is an Acting Bombardier with the Royal Artillery. Coincidentally, my great-grandfather (also James Cordial) was staying in another barracks at the same dockyard!

In the 1891 census for St. Heliers, Mary Ann Cordial is listed as head of the family (herself, William, age 6, born in St. Heliers and John, age 3, born in Dover, Kent). The house was at 49 Aquila Rd. However, she was listed as being 33 and a widow, so maybe she is not your Mary Ann? However, maybe the census taker just assumed a woman with children was a widow, since it looks like James was alive and well at the Woolwich Dockyards!

In the 1901 census, for East Ham, Essex, there is a family of Cordials living at 3 St. Martin's Ave.

Head: James Coridal, age 30, Segeant of the Royal Artillery, born Pembroke, Wales
Wife: Martha, age 32, born in Kent
Son: John, age 2, born in Essex
Daughter: Dorothy, age 2, born in Essex
Son: Wineford, age 3 months, born in Essex
Niece: Mary Vigo, age 13, born in Middlesex

Sorry, on reading your post again I realize that James Jr. was Mary Ann's son. These Cordials weren't very original with names were they? My family has three generations of James Cordials ... very confusing!
