Cords Lineage from Berlin, Worcester Co., Maryland

I'm working on the Cords lineage for a friend of the Walton family in Florida.
This is part of what I have gathered to date.
The branch spelled the surname Choard, Coard, Cords and Cord at different times and primarily from Berlin, Worcester Co., Maryland. I found Francis Comfort Cords Carroll b: April 03, 1825 in Worcester, Maryland d: June 04, 1917 in Shelby Co., Missouri to match with parents John R. Cord and Comfort Franklin Cord.

Hi, my grandfather, William C Cords was from Germany. I have been told that he had an uncle, Robert, living in California. I'd like to compare notes with you to see if your Cords are related to my Cords. Supposedly, another Uncle, Frederick, lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then moved to Seattle. I haven't been able to prove a connection there either! I don't know if Grandpa was born in Hamburg, but I do know that his mother, Wilhelmina Wendt Cords, is buried in Hamburg. His father was Heinrich Wilhelm Cords. Please let me hear from you. Audrey

My Grandmother was Yvonne Laferriere, married to Robert Cord. My father was Alfred John Cord born 1925, they lived in Alameda County, (Oakland) California. Anyone have any info?

"Death of Mrs. J. H. Cords, Long Time Resident of City
The many friends of the family were grieved yesterday to learn of the death, yesterday

morning, of Mrs. Dorothea Cords (nee Kuehl), wife of John Herman Cords, of 907 West

Koenig street.
Mrs. Cords was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in 1852. At the age of 19 she was

married to John Herman Cords, a plasterer by trade. Mr. and Mrs. Cords imigrated to this

country about 1880, coming directly to Grand Island and making this city their home ever

since. Mr. Cords followed his occupation of plasterer and mason, though in the old country the

trade of plasterer is distinguished and specialized from that of a mason.
To this union there were born ten children, seven of whom survive the mother. They are

namely: Mr. Emil Cords, of Rockville, Neb.; Mr. Chas. Cords, Mrs. A. J. Windolph, Mrs.

Herman Suehlsen, Mrs. Charles Windolph, Mr. William Cords, and Mrs. William Seaman, all of

this city. One son and two daughers preceded their mother in death.
Mrs. Cords has been somewhat ill for the past six moths, a malady of the heart being the main

cause of death.
Besides the children she leaves her bereaved husband and one sister, Mrs. Detlef Sass,

residing near this city.
The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the residence. The mourning

family has the sympathy of a host of friends, the family being one of the older ones of Grand

Island, and being well known throughout the country."

I have no further information, I am not related.

CORRECTION - My last message I goofed - Henry was not my g-grandfather. He was my g-grandfather's brother. My g-grandfather was Klaus Cords and they were from the Hamburg area.

Wondering if anyone has a connection to a Henry Cords who immigrated to St. Louis. Don't know the date but it would have been in the middle to late 1800's Henry was my g-grandfather. We didn't know he had come to the States until just recently. Would appreciate hearing from anyone with information.

This is so close to what I am looking for. My ancestor Was John D. Cordes born in Hanover Germany. Died in Mo. July 1852 He married a Kate. Any clues? He was born sometime in the 1820's I can't find anything about him other than he was the first person to be buried in the St. Martin's Church courtyard in 1852.

Scheessel, Hanover, Germany under the name of Christopher Cordes with is son William at 3 yrs old. They dropped the "e" and spelled their name "Cords".

My grandfather came from the Ruest/Mestlin
area of Mecklenburg (this is near Schwerin)
in 1883/4 and settled in Pulaski County, IN.
My father was born there in 1894. I was born
there in 1934. Let me know if this is any help.
