Corlett Fsmily in Cleveland

I am searching for two Corlett families who came to Cleveland from the Isle of Man in the 1820's. One is William B. Corlett who married Jane Cannell. Her father was Patrick Cannell, who also emigrated to Cleveland. William B. And Jane are my great great grandparents.

The other is Captain William Corlett who married Catherine Gill. He sailed the Great Lakes. This William and Catherine are also my great grandparents. I have an abundance of Corletts in my family.
Judy Zaczkowski

William Henry Corlett

Hello,

I'm looking for information regarding my ancestors who immigrated to the United States. William Henry Corlett (went by Henry) was born about 1831. I strongly suspect he was born on the Isle of Man, though I cannot say for certain. He was in Manhattan by at least 1860 and married to an Ellen Rogers (Rodgers?). The census records indicate that she was born in Ireland, about 1836. I don't know whether they came together or married in the US. I can find very little information on Henry, other than he was a shoemaker in 1860, and had likely died before 1870, at least by 1880. If anyone has any information at all, I would be extremely grateful to hear it. Thank you.

I have no info on the Corlett/Corlette family. Just have Lillie Belle's birth certificate, parents Richard Corlette and Dora Pearson. Mother died after childbirth of a son, not known if son survived. Possible older sister, Nellie Lathrop. Dora died 1891 and Thomas Dick died 1895. Lillie Belle was living with Wm. and Louisa Hamilton in Cleveland in 1900 census, listed as niece. Married Glenn Hoskins in 1905. Any info appreciated.

Hi Shielah...

I have only one Corlett ( Thomas b 1871 off the top of my head )..but his grandparents were from I of Man. I only did a little research in that area as Thomas was a far out connection to my family......However I found I had great response and help from researchers via the Manx Genealogy Bulletin Board.

Try the following www.isle-of-man.com/cgi-bin/interests/genealogy/bulletin/ind...

sounds/looks a lot of letters but at least you will be able to make contact with the first part of the web address and should be able to search from that. Corletts in I of Man
are like Smiths and Browns elsewhere I found.
good luck. Moira.

I'm researching my Decker line, and info found at lds indicated a connection to the Corlets, just don't know which one. Need a few leads..

I'm trying to document a Hannah J. Corlett b. Ohio 1852. She married a Marcus Decker in Lake county, OH in 1874. Marcus and Hannah were found on 1880 Painesville Ohio census. I believe Marcus descends from Erza and Joanna Decker of Lake County, OH.

According to the census, Hannah was born Ohio, and her parents was born Isle of Man. I tried to figure who that was but found too many Corletts from Isle of Man to make a connection.

Would anyone have info on this person or know who she/Hannah descends from??

Any leads greatly appreciated.

Sheilah

Hre's what I have. Who's connected?

Working backward (all are deceased, now) it goes:

Vera Mary and Veva Mary CORLETT twin daughters born April 1909 in Denver Colorado. Vera died in 1965 in Albuquerque NM. Their parents were:

George Milton (1884 - 1905) and Martha Jean (RUPERT) (1886 - 1989) CORLETT of Colorado. George Milton was the Vice Governor or lieutenant Governor of Colorado and a prominent water-rights lawyer.

George Milton was the son of Charles Milton (b 1884) and Mary Elida (STAFFORD) CORLETT

Charles Milton was the son of John W. and Abigail (CRANE) CORLETT.

JOhn W. was "From London".

One of the CORLETTs of that line was General Charles H. "Cowboy Pete" CORLETT who is buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery along with his niece, Vera and her husband Col Hugh O. WINTER Anyone interested, I can toddle over there with my handy ditigal camera and photograph their tombstones.

It's a short list, but it's all I have! I find it interesting that Vera applied and was accepted by the DAR for the RUPERT lineage, but she has left *no* documentation at all.
