Hi my name is Kelly Holland Vaughn and my grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Walker, Opal was his sister. I would love any information you have on the family. I just started researching the Walker/Corley side of my family and it was great to see your post. Let me know if you have any questions from this branch of the tree and I will help if I can. Ben is buried in the Biggs-Gridley Cemetery, Butte County, California along side of his wife, Carrie Catherine Christian Walker. I was born to his daughter, Barbara Mae Walker Holland. Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Kelly

Patrick was recorded on the 1871 Census of Canada in Tingwick, Arthabaska, Quebec. It shows his dob as 1811 and his wife, Margaret as 1801. Not sure how accurate it is though. I've attached a copy for you to review.

Do you have a time frame when Patrick was in Quebec? My Patrick was married in Massachusetts in 1850 and born in Ireland about1825. His father was Bernard. Patrick may have used the name Curley.

Partick Corley lived with my g-g-grandfather, Martin Corley in Tingwick, Quebec. I'm not sure of their relationship, but I know Patrick isn't his father. Martin's father was John Corley. Patrick was his uncle, maybe? He disappeared after that. Some of Martin's family moved to Burlington, Chittenden, Vermont. I have a feeling they were related to the Corley's there, just not sure how.
Not sure if that helps you. Any information you could share with me would help.

Peter,
I am also researching this family, my husband is a descendant of the Reuben Corley you mentioned and his first wife Phoebe Haystead. I do not have a son Charles for them. I do have a George born about 1839 but I cannot find any trace of him after that. He was with the family in the 1841 census but not in the 1851 census. I believe I have the Charles you mentioned, married to Harriet Earl, but as the son of Christopher Corley, a brother of Reuben, and Lydia Oakley. I could be wrong but I don't remember a Charles with Reuben's family in any Census.
Reuben married his second wife Maria/ Mariah Drurey 2 July 1859 at the Baptist Chapel, Great Ellingham leading me to believe that some of the family was Baptist.
Please let me know if you can confirm or disprove anything that I have.
Linda

Peter, yes I know of your family. Albert (Bertie) went to Austraila I believe after the war. Rose I have not been able to trace. The Lord you mention is the use of a surname from the female line not a title, sorry to dissapoint you. Reuben was married previously but his wife died and he remarried. You need to have a look at the tree I have onthe family. I would be very interested in all the photos you have. I have very few unfortunatly. My dad's grandfather George Henry Corley moved to Manchester where all his children were born, including my father. He left Manchester after his father died from after affects from being gassed during WW1. He was only 4. His mother had to go back to her family in Brighton once she lost her husband.

I have names in the family that also lead me to think along the Jewish, Ezekiel but there is no proof as yet and I have got back to 1789.

Hi Kay - really sorry about the delay in responding to your post - I am a total beginner with all this (but am getting better!) but can see how all your hard work connects with my Stow Bedon connections. Co-incidentally, I have just returned from a short holiday in Norfolk and managed to get to both Stow Bedon and Caston over the weekend - located the grave of Charles and Harriet Maria Corley in the chuchyard at St Botolphs in Stow Bedon - plus that of George Smith Corley and his wife - also a Harriet. Would the images be of use to you - I will be putting them on the site when I have chance to do so

Hello,

My grandma was a Ballinvoash Corley. She was the daughter of Bridget and Thomas Corley. Thomas was the son of Margaret and (I think) another Thomas. There was an Ellen Corley born to Thomas and Margaret on 10 April 1867 who presumably is the sister of m ggrandfather. Could your Ellen be the sister of my gggrandfather?

Hannah

Eliza Corley (married to John Hall), Shelby Illinois (b 1809)

Does anyone have confirmation for date of death as 14 Sep 1867 other than from A Genealogy of Corleys? I am convinced that document is referencing the death of her husband, John Hall, and not her. He is in the 1860 Census, with their son and his wife, but not Eliza. I believe she died prior to 1860, but I have found no record for it. Related to this, has anyone visited the cemetery where Eliza and John are buried, in Ridge Cemetery? For the record, this is the reference in AGoC: "Eliza's death preceded that of her husband, which occurred September 14, 1867."

Hi JK,
Don't know if we've chatted before or not. I stopped working on this for quite a while and am trying to get going again.

Which of Nancy's children are you descended from? Lee is my great-grandfather.

Thanks,
Amy (Ramsey) Deace
