His name was John but his wife was Margaret Smith. Robert, my g/father and his younger brother Wilfred migrated to NZ. Their other siblings were Christine,Robert, Jack, Nance,Lavinia, Wilfred and Oswald. There is another sibling, can't read the name really, looks like Belia. Hope this helps.
Regards
Karyn Wairoa kanny@westnet.com.au

My tree is on genesreunited. If you are a member there I can open it to you.

Margaret Steel Hunter would have been my great grandmother. I have the family bible - a huge thing with pages in the middle for entering family details - and it is obvious to me that it was originally used by Margaret because HER death is NOT recorded. I don't know her year of death. The handwriting is by the same person.

I am searching for Esther Hopps husband (my grandfather), John Cornforth but am having trouble finding him as he does not seem to appear on any census. I have the marriage certificate so I know his age and his fathers name - William - but I am going round in circles.

I'd actually forgotten about the post too, I correspond with so many people whilst researching the family tree and it's difficult to keep tabs on everything. My Esther Hopps was born 1880 at Bishopton and was the daughter of John Hopps and Margaret Steel Hunter.
Regards,
Lesley

You say that you know the name comes from Yorkshire, infact it comes from County Durham which is pretty close to Yorkshire (north). There is a small, what used to be mining village called Cornforth and it is said that this is the place where they originated from. I know this information because I too am a cornforth and I still live pretty near to the village.
Hope this helps in your search.

Hi!
I am very interested in your message because there were Cornforth's at Coxwold which I have information on and I also have a photo of a Clara Cornforth from Coxwold which I have been researching.
I have a huge database of over 14,500 Cornforth records and over 120 Cornforth contacts if you would like any more help. I have also just downloaded all the 1901 census Cornforth's which may well help you.
My family tree (which I am tidying up at present) has details of some of the Coxwold Cornforth's. This is online at www.cornforth.org
If I can help further then do make contact with as much information as you know and I will do a search for you.
Jus

Lyle was my grandfather, he married Marlys Begalka, they had seven children one of which is my father Randall Haug. My grandfather died this summer and my grandmother is still alive but her memory is gone. Artie's parents were Theodore & Kate Goodroad. Theodore's parents we think are Lewis and Adaline Goodroad. My name is Richard Haug and have some more info if you are interested, I am interested in anything about the Goodroads as we have very little info.
