Not sure if this will help. I have William B. Corning (1806-1892) divorcing Lucy Sept. 7 1840 in Illinois. They had three children: James Henry, Charles Thomas (married Jane Adams), and Elizabeth A. Charles Thomas and Jane had William H. Corning. I have some birth dates for the children but they don't make sense if William and Lucy were divorced in 1840. Will have to follow up on those. Walter M. Corning I don't have in my database.
