Have now been helped with the name of Mary's husband, which was William. I also discovered Mary's maiden name was Jenkins. I would like anyone who can do a look up for me as I would like to know when Mary Mugford died and where if possible and where she was buried. I suspect it was in St Blazey.

Hi, with regard to James McGrath , have you tried the 1891 census ? there is a family of James McGrath b Castledermott Ireland coachman to the farmer of Westleigh , with wife Mary b Worcs, dau Mary b aged 10 and a son b Kinsale, and other children b Jersey and then Westleigh , all of which seems to indicate that James was in the army .
Have you tried the 1871 census for Nelson Cornwall ? have you tried free bmd for the other various births , marriages etc ?
Elizabeth Cornwall Robinson vs Daniel Cornwell Estate, Clermont Co, OH

Elizabeth may have been a daughter, but not named in the census taking, prior to 1850. Or Daniel's will. Daniel Cornwell's wife Phebe/Phoebe, widowed, married Jonathan Church, their neighbor, in Brown Co.,(cut from Clermont).
Elizabeth named several of Daniel's son's in her suit and their mother, Phoebe. (no indication that the Church's were involved.) Phoebe Church, widowed, was in the 1860 census; with son George and his dtr & son, as well as a Wm.Blackburn(?). Robinson is a name which would be asso with the grandchildren, later on, but no connecting link is known, by me, in Clermont Co. Ohio. Cornell became the spelling used, after being in the Church family, I suppose, as children; since it was the spelling used in the 1860 Census there, with Pheobe Cornwell Church's son, George Cornell, both widowed, with his two children, as well as a Wm Blackburn, of unk kin. The info on the lawsuit was furnished to another cousin, by a descendant of Jonathan Cornwell, s/o Phoebe/Daniel Cornwell; who still resides in Clermont, Ohio, I believe. It would be wonderful if he or a son has participated in the DNA testing. Or if anyone from the Corn/w/ell/all family in Clermont (Franklin/Bethel)Ohio, has submitted tests, yet(?)
Brother William Corn/w/ell, married Nancy Waters in Clermont or Brown Co., moved to S.W. MO, as did George Cornell, after the Civil War & went by Cornell, also.
The Woodall brothers have some on these; but tests, I don't know of...? There was the elder son of Daniel Cornwell, of the same name, b:NJ and his younger siblings, b:Clermont OH, thru the 1830's: Jonathan, George and William. w/unk sisters. (surname/maiden name spellings, unk).
Jonathan Cornwell, also used the Cornell spelling, as do his descendants. The younger Daniel may have gone to Indiana, but that's just my own speculation; as one of his step bros from the Church family married a member of another of my lines, there, the Pitz/sers who later connect to some Robinsons...just conjecture, on my part, at this point; but as many ways as I've seen so many linked, it's odd that they must be such "invisible" links...so I'm very much interested in the DNA test results, for sure. I'm a female at the end of these lines; but, did send in the one for general testing, at www.smgf.org a month or so ago, anyway.
Thanks, for all your efforts!
Sherry McClellan
PO Bx 585
Arlington, OR 97812
artogo4u@yahoo.com

No problem.
Do you know what happens coming forward from 1841 for the 4 on the census.
There are a lot of John Ellis deaths in Penzance in the next decade -- but only 1 Joseph

Deaths Sep 1844
ELLIS Joseph Penzance 9	170

No idea whether this is your Joseph -- you would have to get cert. to check age etc.

Going backwards would be difficult, but do you know how to list all Ellis births and marriages in Ludgvan, without having to guess first names? if you were lucky this would get you to John 1786 parents and possibly his siblings too.
Regards
Roger

I think that you may need to contact the CFHS and see whether they can tell you whether there is a MI for the two names you are looking for. I am transcribing a tiny part of one parish for the CFHS.

A searchable data base for MI's for Cornwall is a long way off as far as I know -- but a full print out for a specific name can be obtained at modest cost -- but it still would not tell you what the actual inscription was -- for that you would need extra help.

Roger

Sorry, all of message did not show up. Should read

Mary Cornwall Brush was the wife of Jarius Rood Brush. She was born around 1799 and died May 28,1877. Some sources list her parents as John Cornwall, UEL and Mary Benedict. However, they had another daughter Mary (1792-Feb 10,1891) who married Wm McCormick. Other sources including the Commemorative Biographical Record for Essex county state that Mary Cornwall Brush was the granddaughter of John Cornwall and Mary Benedict and that her father was John Cornwall (Jr?) who married Lucinda Hubble. The problem is that this marriage did not take place until 1808 at St John's in Sandwich. Does anyone know if Mary Cornwall Brush had an obituary in the Amherstburg Echo? This might help solve then problem

Hello, I came across your message. I have most of my Cornish family, including USA, Canada, S Africa and London, going back to about 1530. I would be interested in exchanging information. Do you have any info on Thomas Haley (sometimes spelled Healy, Haly, Hayley etc) born Aug 25 1867 in Whitchurch Devon, to Henry Thomas Haley born 1846 in North Hill Cornwall and Jane Dingle Richards born 1847 in Tavistock Devon? He was a copper miner in 1881, a grocer's apprentice in 1891. He emigrated to Australia from Liverpool abt 1892-96, and I have had no luck tracing him beyond that. I know that he married and had children, and lived in both Perth (1960s) and NSW earlier.
Thankyou
